No. SOS is an independent nonprofit organization. While SOS collaborates with journalists, researchers, and law enforcement partners, it does not investigate crimes, make arrests, or recover stolen funds.
How does the SOS Media Network help prevent scams?
The SOS Media Network uses articles, video alerts, podcasts, and investigative reporting to explain real-world scams in clear, accessible language, helping the public understand scam tactics as they evolve.
Who can be targeted by scams?
Anyone can be targeted by scams. People of all ages, professions, and backgrounds are affected. While seniors are often targeted, younger adults increasingly face investment, employment, impersonation, and online fraud schemes.
What should I do if I believe I’ve been targeted or scammed?
Stop engaging immediately and do not send money or personal information. SOS provides educational guidance and directs individuals to appropriate reporting resources so they can take informed and safe next steps.
Does SOS offer scam recovery or fund recovery services?
No. SOS does not recover lost funds or charge for recovery services. However, we can help direct individuals to trusted public agencies and vetted educational resources that explain legitimate reporting and recovery pathways. SOS does not endorse or guarantee the services of any third party.
